Accessibility Statement

1. The standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the standard referenced by EN 301 549, the harmonised European standard used to demonstrate conformance with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), and it is the benchmark applied in most accessibility litigation worldwide.

2. Current status

This website is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Substantially conformant" means the site meets the standard in the great majority of respects, with the exceptions noted in section 4.

We are honest about the limits of that claim. Automated testing can only detect roughly a third to a half of accessibility barriers. The remainder require manual testing with real assistive technologies. See section 7.

3. What we have done

• Colour contrast. All body and interface text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio required at Level AA. Primary text renders at approximately 12.4:1 and headings at approximately 18:1.
• Keyboard access. Every interactive element (navigation, links, the menu, the enquiry form, and the file upload controls) can be reached and operated using only a keyboard. There are no keyboard traps.
• Visible focus. A clear, high-contrast focus indicator is shown on every element that can receive focus.
• Skip link. A "Skip to content" link is the first item in the tab order, so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation.
• Semantic structure. One h1 per page, with headings in a correct, unskipped order, and landmark regions for navigation, main content and footer.
• Form labels. Every input, select and file field has a programmatically associated label. Required fields are marked and validated.
• Reduced motion. All animation (including the cycling headline and the pulsing button) is disabled automatically for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
• Reflow. The site reflows to a 320 px viewport without horizontal scrolling.
• Decorative graphics. Ornamental SVG artwork is hidden from assistive technologies so it does not clutter the reading experience.
• No overlay widget. We do not use an accessibility overlay or toolbar. These do not fix underlying code, and are disproportionately targeted in accessibility litigation.

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following, and are working on them:

• Screen reader testing is not yet complete. We have verified structure, labels and keyboard operation programmatically, but have not yet completed an end-to-end manual test with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.
• Uploaded documents. Documents that others send us, or that we may publish in future, may not themselves be accessible (for example, scanned PDFs without a text layer).
• Third-party form processing. Our enquiry form is processed by our hosting provider. We do not control their infrastructure, though the form itself is built to the standard above.

5. Tell us about a problem

If you cannot access any part of this site, or an assistive technology does not work with it, please contact us. Describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the technology you were using. We will reply within five business days and tell you how and when we will fix it.

If you need information from this site in an alternative format (large print, plain text, or read aloud over the telephone), ask us and we will provide it at no cost.

6. If we do not resolve it

We would much rather hear from you directly and put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate:

• In the European Union: to the market surveillance authority of the member state in which you live. Each member state designates its own authority under the European Accessibility Act.
• In South Africa: to the South African Human Rights Commission (sahrc.org.za), which handles complaints of unfair discrimination on the ground of disability.
• In the United Kingdom: to the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

7. How this was assessed

This statement was prepared on 10 July 2026, based on a self-assessment carried out by VidaLufuno (Pty) Ltd.

The assessment used:

• programmatic testing of colour contrast ratios against the WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds;
• automated checks for form labelling, heading order, landmark structure and accessible names;
• keyboard-only traversal of the full page, checking focus visibility and the absence of traps;
• emulation of the prefers-reduced-motion setting;
• reflow testing at a 320 px viewport width.

What we have not yet done: a full manual audit with screen readers, and testing with users who have disabilities. Automated tools catch only part of the picture, and we do not want to overstate our position.

We review this statement at least annually, and whenever the site changes materially.
